Our Norwegian adventure begins at the elegant Losby Gods, a historic country estate surrounded by forests and lakes just outside Oslo.

After arriving and settling into the hotel, there will be time to relax, meet fellow participants and admire the wonderful collection of cars that will form our travelling group.

This evening we come together for our Welcome Dinner, where we will introduce the journey ahead and raise a glass to the roads, mountains and fjords that await us.

A historic manor hotel set in peaceful countryside just outside Oslo. Surrounded by forests and golf courses, Losby Gods combines traditional Norwegian character with elegant accommodation, fine dining and a wonderfully tranquil setting.

Leaving Losby behind, we begin our journey north through the beautiful countryside of eastern Norway.

The landscape gradually changes as forests give way to open countryside and the road follows the shores of Lake Mjøsa, Norway's largest lake. This is classic Norwegian touring country, with quiet roads, beautiful scenery and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy the cars and the road ahead.

Our destination is Lillehammer, best known internationally for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics and for its charming historic centre.

After arriving, the remainder of the afternoon is at leisure, allowing us to explore the town or simply relax at the hotel.

Located on Lillehammer's historic Storgaten, Home Hotel Hammer offers a warm and relaxed base in the heart of the town. Its traditional setting, comfortable rooms and welcoming atmosphere make it an ideal stop after our first day on the road.

Our route now takes us deeper into the mountains.

Leaving Lillehammer behind, we travel north through increasingly remote landscapes before reaching Røros, one of Norway's most fascinating historic towns.

Founded around its copper mines in the seventeenth century, Røros has preserved an extraordinary collection of traditional wooden buildings and narrow streets. The town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and provides a wonderful opportunity to step away from the road and experience another side of Norway.

From Røros we continue north towards Trondheim, Norway's historic former capital and one of the country's most important cultural centres.

Set beside the Nidelven River in the heart of Trondheim, the Royal Garden combines contemporary comfort with an attractive riverside setting. Its glass-roofed atrium, Nordic-inspired dining and central location make it an excellent base for exploring this historic city.

After several days on the road, today is deliberately unhurried.

Trondheim offers a fascinating combination of history, architecture and contemporary Norwegian life. At its centre stands the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral, built over the burial site of St Olaf and regarded as Norway's national sanctuary.

The colourful wooden buildings of Bakklandet, the old bridge and the historic harbour provide a wonderful setting for a leisurely day away from the cars.

There is time to explore at your own pace, enjoy a long lunch or simply take advantage of the hotel's facilities before we come together again for dinner.

Leaving Trondheim behind, our journey turns towards the coast as we make our way south and west through the changing landscapes of central Norway.

Our route takes us towards Kristiansund before joining one of Norway's most celebrated driving roads, the spectacular Atlantic Road. Stretching across a chain of islands and skerries, the road crosses the open Atlantic via a series of elegant bridges, with the sea and mountains providing a constantly changing backdrop. The most famous section forms part of Norway's National Scenic Routes and is widely regarded as one of the country's great road journeys.

This is a road to savour rather than simply follow. There will be opportunities to stop, take in the views and enjoy the extraordinary setting as the route carries us across the water's edge and into the rugged coastal landscapes of Nordmøre.

From the Atlantic coast, we turn inland towards Angvik, where our journey for the day comes to an end at the beautiful Angvik Gamle Handelssted.

Set beside Tingvollfjorden, this historic trading post has been welcoming travellers for generations and today combines its heritage with elegant accommodation, fine dining and the distinctive Badehuset Spa. With the fjord immediately outside and its historic buildings and gardens providing a peaceful setting, it is a wonderful place to slow the pace after a memorable day on the road.

This evening, we can relax by the fjord and enjoy the hotel's fine dining, before another spectacular day of Norwegian driving tomorrow.

A beautifully restored historic trading post overlooking Tingvollfjorden, Angvik Gamle Handelssted is one of the journey's most distinctive properties. With just 37 rooms, traditional interiors, local cuisine, fireplaces and the atmospheric Badehuset Spa, it offers an intimate and characterful fjord-side retreat.

After a leisurely breakfast beside the fjord at Angvik Gamle Handelssted, we leave the tranquillity of Tingvollfjorden behind and continue south towards the mountains.

Our route takes us towards Molde, known as the City of Roses, before continuing into the spectacular landscapes around Åndalsnes, where the mountains rise dramatically from the Romsdalsfjord.

From here, the road climbs into the mountains towards Trollstigen, one of Norway's most famous driving roads. Eleven dramatic hairpin bends wind their way up the mountainside towards the Trollstigen plateau, where waterfalls, sheer rock faces and snow-capped peaks create one of the most memorable landscapes of the journey. The route forms part of Norway's National Scenic Route between Åndalsnes and Geiranger.

At the summit, we will have time to stop and take in the extraordinary views from the beautifully designed viewing platforms before continuing across the mountains and towards the fjords of Sunnmøre.

The road eventually brings us to Ålesund, one of Norway's most distinctive cities. Spread across several islands and surrounded by the sea and mountains, Ålesund is famous for its remarkable Art Nouveau architecture, rebuilt in the distinctive style following the great town fire of 1904.

This evening, we settle into the city for dinner and an opportunity to explore Ålesund at leisure, perhaps taking a stroll through its atmospheric streets or enjoying the views across the harbour.

A distinctive waterfront hotel in the heart of Ålesund, created from historic buildings surrounding the Brosundet waterway. Full of character, original architecture and carefully selected artwork, Brosundet offers an intimate and contemporary interpretation of the city's maritime heritage.

Leaving Ålesund, our journey continues south along Norway's spectacular outer coastline.

The mountains gradually give way to a more rugged maritime landscape as we travel between islands, waterways and small coastal communities. Here, the Atlantic is never far away, and the road frequently opens onto wide horizons and views across the sea.

Our destination is Kalvåg, one of the most atmospheric fishing villages on Norway's western coast. Set around a sheltered harbour on the island of Frøya, Kalvåg retains much of the character of the fishing community that has existed here for generations, with traditional waterfront buildings, fishermen's cabins and the sea forming an ever-present backdrop.

This is a very different Norway from the great fjords and mountain landscapes further inland, and one of the pleasures of the Atlantic Fjord Classic is discovering these quieter and less familiar corners of the country.

This evening, we settle into life beside the harbour, with time to explore the village before enjoying dinner and the exceptional local seafood for which this part of the coast is renowned.

Set beside the harbour in the historic fishing village of Kalvåg, Knutholmen is a family-run coastal hotel built around traditional sea houses. With individual rooms and apartments, a strong maritime character and an excellent reputation for seafood, it is perfectly suited to our arrival on Norway's outer coast.

From the open Atlantic, our journey now turns inland towards the great fjords of western Norway.

Leaving Kalvåg behind, we follow the coastline before turning towards Nordfjord, where the landscape begins to change dramatically. Steep mountains rise from deep blue waters, waterfalls descend from the valleys above and the roads become increasingly immersed in the scenery.

As we continue east, the scale of the landscape grows. We pass through a succession of fjord and mountain environments before reaching the vast Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest fjord.

From here our route leads towards the beautiful Aurlandsfjord and, eventually, the village of Flåm, dramatically situated beneath the surrounding mountains.

After a rewarding day on the road, Flåm provides the perfect setting to settle in for two nights and enjoy a little time away from the car.

A historic hotel in the heart of Flåm, beautifully positioned at the head of the Aurlandsfjord. Fretheim has long welcomed travellers exploring the fjords and combines traditional character with comfortable modern accommodation and spectacular mountain and fjord surroundings.

After the miles and mountains of the previous days, Flåm provides the perfect opportunity to slow the pace.

Surrounded by towering mountains at the head of the Aurlandsfjord, this beautiful village is one of Norway's most spectacular settings.

Today is deliberately flexible. Guests may choose to experience the fjords by boat, explore the Nærøyfjord, take the famous Flåm Railway into the mountains or simply enjoy the tranquillity of the fjord.

For those who prefer to stay close to the hotel, there is also time for a leisurely lunch, a walk beside the water or simply enjoying the scenery.

Our journey continues south through some of the most beautiful landscapes in western Norway.

Leaving Flåm, we travel towards Voss, surrounded by mountains and lakes, before continuing through the dramatic scenery of Hardanger.

Waterfalls tumble from the mountainsides and orchards line the shores of the fjords as we make our way towards Bergen.

Eventually the landscape opens and we arrive in Bergen, Norway's historic gateway to the fjords.

Ideally positioned beside Bergen's famous Bryggen waterfront, this elegant city hotel places us in the heart of one of Norway's most historic destinations. Its central location makes it an excellent base from which to explore Bergen's harbour, historic streets and cultural attractions.

Another welcome day away from the cars allows us to discover Bergen at our own pace.

The colourful buildings of Bryggen, the historic harbour and narrow streets of the old city provide a fascinating insight into Bergen's centuries as a major trading centre.

There will be time to explore the city, visit its museums and galleries, enjoy the famous seafood or simply find a terrace overlooking the harbour.

This evening we come together for dinner before our journey turns south towards Stavanger.

Our final major stretch of fjord country begins as we leave Bergen and head south.

The route takes us through the beautiful landscapes of Hardanger, before continuing towards Rosendal and the western coast.

Gradually the scenery changes again. The great fjords give way to smaller waterways, coastal villages and open stretches of sea as we make our way towards Stavanger.

Stavanger is one of Norway's most characterful cities, famous for its historic wooden houses, harbour and close connection with the North Sea.

A landmark hotel in the centre of Stavanger, overlooking Lake Breiavatnet and within easy reach of the city's historic Old Town. With its central location, comfortable accommodation and views towards the surrounding fjords and mountains, it provides an excellent base for discovering Stavanger.

Leaving Stavanger, we turn south towards the open landscapes of Jæren, where long sandy beaches, windswept dunes and the North Sea create a striking contrast to the mountains and fjords we have experienced further north.

Following the beautiful coastal roads, we pass through a succession of small communities before reaching Egersund and continuing towards the historic coastal town of Flekkefjord. This section of the journey captures another side of Norway, with rocky headlands, secluded bays and traditional villages replacing the great fjords of the west. The Jæren Scenic Route itself stretches for around 130 kilometres between Bore and Flekkefjord and is renowned for its beaches, coastal landscapes and maritime heritage.

From Flekkefjord, our route continues east towards Kristiansand, before turning along the beautiful Sørlandet coastline towards our destination, Arendal. Often described as one of Southern Norway's most charming coastal towns, Arendal is centred around the picturesque harbour of Pollen and the historic wooden houses of Tyholmen. The surrounding archipelago, islands and rocky coastline give the area a distinctly relaxed maritime character.

After several days of mountain passes and spectacular fjords, tonight offers the opportunity to slow the pace, enjoy the harbour and experience the gentler side of Norwegian coastal life.

Set on the island of Tromøy beside the Skagerrak, Arendal Herregaard combines historic character with a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Surrounded by pine forest and the landscapes of Raet National Park, the hotel offers a spa, pool, locally inspired dining and an elegant setting by the sea.

Our final full day of driving begins in Arendal, as we leave the southern coast and begin our journey east towards the Oslofjord.

Rather than taking the most direct route, we will seek out some of the quieter roads and coastal landscapes that make this part of Norway so enjoyable to explore. The character of the scenery gradually changes as we leave the open Skagerrak coastline behind, passing through forests, lakes and rolling countryside as we make our way towards the Oslofjord.

There is still plenty to enjoy along the way, with the picturesque towns and villages of Southern Norway providing an opportunity to pause and take in the changing landscape.

By late afternoon, we arrive at Refsnes Gods, our elegant final overnight stop on the shores of the Oslofjord at Jeløy, near Moss.

Dating from 1767, Refsnes Gods has a remarkable sense of history and character. The hotel is home to 61 individually decorated rooms, an extensive collection of Nordic art and the acclaimed Restaurant Munch. Its gardens and position overlooking the Oslofjord provide a suitably tranquil setting for our penultimate evening.

A historic estate overlooking the Oslofjord on the island of Jeløy, Refsnes Gods has been welcoming guests for around 250 years. Its 61 rooms feature original Nordic artwork, while Restaurant Munch, the gardens and the fjord-side setting create a suitably elegant overnight stop.

Our final morning begins with a leisurely breakfast at Refsnes Gods before we set out for one last drive through the landscapes of eastern Norway.

Our route takes us towards Fredrikstad, one of Norway’s historic coastal towns and home to the remarkable Gamlebyen.

Founded in 1567, Gamlebyen is one of Northern Europe’s best-preserved fortified towns. Behind its distinctive star-shaped ramparts lie cobbled streets, historic buildings, galleries, cafés, artisan workshops and independent shops. More than simply a historic monument, it remains a vibrant and characterful part of the town, making it the perfect place to pause and experience another side of Norway.

We will have time to explore the Old Town at leisure before coming together for a relaxed group lunch within the historic surroundings of Gamlebyen. Afterwards, we return to our cars and set off for the final leg of our journey.

From Fredrikstad, we head north through the countryside towards Oslo and the Losby Gods Hotel, returning to the elegant estate where our Norwegian adventure began.

This evening, we come together once more for our Final Gala Dinner, raising a glass to the roads travelled, the places discovered, the cars that carried us there and the friendships made along the way.

After fifteen days on the road, it is a fitting conclusion to an extraordinary journey through Norway.

We return to Losby Gods for an elegant Gala evening, providing a fitting conclusion to our journey.

For those with a little more time, there is the opportunity for one final walk through the estate or simply a quiet coffee while reflecting on the extraordinary journey we have shared.

The roads may be behind us, but the memories will remain for a very long time.
